Maarten has been a (trial) lawyer since 1995, an experienced corporate litigation lawyer, a creative thinker, and legal advisor. He joined WLP-Law in 2013 and provides advice and represents clients in litigation, with a broad expertise in commercial contracts and corporate law. Maarten has been appointed as a non-executive director (supervisory board member) at Portwise (Rijswijk/The Hague).

Personal
Since 2013 Maarten has been appointed Lecturer Corporate Law at Leiden University (Institute for Private Law, Corporate Law Department) for one day a week. He regularly teaches and gives guest lectures at post docs and seminars. He has various publications to his name, such as ‘Bedrijfsovername’ (October 2023) regarding Mergers and Acquisitions. In his spare time, he enjoys the water: windsurfing, sailing, the beach. Maarten even lives on the water in a genuine houseboat. He drives his electric Vespa to work.
